Specialty coatings definition

Specialty coatings means coatings that are necessary due to unusual and uncommon job performance requirements, including, but not limited to, the following:
Specialty coatings means, for the purposes of 35 Ill. Adm. Code 218 and 219, plastic parts coatings used for unusual job performance requirements. These products include adhesion primers, resist coatings, soft coatings, reflective coatings, electrostatic prep coatings, headlamp lens coatings, ink pad printing coatings, stencil coatings, vacuum metalizing coatings, gloss reducers, plating resist coatings, and plating sensitizer coatings.
Specialty coatings means adhesion promoters, low-gloss coatings, bright metal trim repair coatings, jambing (cut-in) clearcoats, elastomeric coatings, impact resistant coatings, underbody coatings, uniform finish blenders, and weld-through primers.

Examples of Specialty coatings in a sentence

  • Specialty coatings for the pipe shall be as indicated in the Plans, Specifications, and Special Provisions.

  • Specialty coatings typically have relatively low usage, so reformulation to lower VOC contents does not produce significant air quality benefits nor is it economically feasible for the paint suppliers.

  • Specialty coatings (as defined in the MACT and described in Appendix N of OAC 252:100), primers, and topcoats may be applied at all coating operation locations depending on the maintenance work being performed.

Related to Specialty coatings

  • Specialty coating means a coating that, even though the coating meets the definition of a primer, topcoat, or self-priming topcoat, has additional performance criteria beyond those of primers, topcoats, and self-priming topcoats for specific applications. These performance criteria may include, but are not limited to, temperature or fire resistance, substrate compatibility, antireflection, temporary protection or marking, sealing, adhesively joining substrates, or enhanced corrosion protection. A listing of specialty coatings is found in paragraph (D)(1)(b) of rule 3745-21-19 of the Administrative Code.

  • Pretreatment coating means a coating which contains no more than 12% solids by weight, and at least 0.5% acid by weight, is used to provide surface etching, and is applied directly to metal surfaces to provide corrosion resistance, adhesion, and ease of stripping.

  • Roll coating means the application of a coating material to a substrate by means of hard rubber or steel rolls.

  • Dental Services means diagnostic, preventive, or corrective

  • Coating means a material applied onto or impregnated into a substrate for protective, decorative, or functional purposes. Such materials include, but are not limited to, paints, varnishes, sealers, and stains.
