Temporary Nurse definition

Temporary Nurse is a nurse filling a temporary position not exceeding 22 one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days or hired as a replacement for an employee 23 with reinstatement rights provided by applicable federal or state law or hired for a 24 position on a temporary assignment. A temporary position is not posted under Article 9 25 unless it is expected to last more than one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days. In a 26 situation presenting an unexpected staffing need, the Hospital may assign a nurse on 27 an interim basis while following the posting requirements of Article 9.
Temporary Nurse. A nurse who is hired for a limited duration not to exceed three months or who is hired to fill positions because of a combination of leaves of absence, vacations, holidays, and sick leave for a period not to exceed six months.

  • If a Regular or Temporary Nurse had booked any paid Holiday Leave credits for use on a recognized Holiday where the Nurse ended up working on that recognized Holiday, the Nurse is entitled to reschedule the paid holiday leave credits for use at a later time.

Temporary Nurse as used in this Agreement refers to a Staff Registered Nurse who is hired by the Hospital for a period not to exceed six (6) months and is so informed at the time of hire, and furthermore, who is hired to fill a limited or temporary job, to fill a manpower shortage of limited duration, to work on a special project, or to replace a Nurse absent due to illness, leave, or vacation.
