Urgent Care Facility definition

Urgent Care Facility means a facility equipped and operated mainly to give immediate treatment for an acute Illness or Injury.
Urgent Care Facility means a free-standing facility which is engaged primarily in diagnosing and treating Illness or Injury for unscheduled, ambulatory Covered Persons seeking immediate medical attention. A clinic or office located in or in conjunction with or in any way made a part of a Hospital will be excluded from the terms of this definition.

More Definitions of Urgent Care Facility

Urgent Care Facility means a licensed facility that provides medical assistance to treat minor and non life-threatening emergencies.
Urgent Care Facility means an outpatient treatment center that regardless of its posted or advertised name, meets any of the following requirements (a) is open 24 hours a day, excluding at its option weekends or certain holidays, but is not licensed as a hospital; (b) claims to provide unscheduled medical services not otherwise routinely available in primary care physician offices; (c) by its posted or advertised name, gives the impression to the public that it provides medical care for urgent, immediate or emergency conditions; or (d) routinely provides ongoing unscheduled medical services for more than eight consecutive hours for an individual patient including any facility providing primary care services.
Urgent Care Facility means, for the purposes of this regulation, a facility or office that generally has extended hours, may or may not have a physician on the premises at all times, and is only able to treat minor illnesses and injuries. Urgent care does not typically have the facilities to handle an emergency condition, which includes life or limb threatening injuries or illnesses, as defined under emergency services.
