Violent juvenile felony means any of the delinquent acts enumerated in subsection B or C of

  • Violent felony means the same as that term is defined in Section 76-3-203.5.

This includes felonious child endangerment, assault, murder, sexual abuse, kidnapping, robbery, arson in the first degree, or burglary in the first degree. Forcible felonies are not willful injury in violation of Iowa Code section 708.4, subsection 2; sexual abuse in the third degree committed between spouses; sexual abuse in violation of Iowa Code section 709.4, subsection 2, paragraph “c,” subparagraph (4); or sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist in violation of Iowa Code section 709.15.

  • Victim of sexual assault means an individual against whom a sexual offense has been committed as described in ORS 163.467 or 163.525; or any other individual designated as a victim of sexual assault by rule adopted under ORS 659A.805.

  • Violent crime means a forcible felony, as defined in Iowa Code section 702.11, and includes any other felony or aggravated misdemeanor which involved the actual or threatened infliction of physical or emotional injury on one or more persons.

  • Attack directed against any civilian population means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;

  • Felony means a violation of a penal law of this state for which the offender may be punished by imprisonment for more than 1 year or an offense expressly designated by law to be a felony.

  • Threat of violence means an unjustified expression of intention to inflict injury or damage that is made by a student and directed to another student.

  • Plagiarism means to take and present as one's own a material portion of the ideas or words of another or to present as one's own an idea or work derived from an existing source without full and proper credit to the source of the ideas, words, or works. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Victim or target of Nazi persecution means any individual persecuted or targeted for persecution by

  • Sexually violent predator means a person who:

  • Moral turpitude means conduct that is wrong in itself even if no statute were to prohibit the conduct; and

  • Felony Conviction means a conviction within the preceding 24 months of a felony criminal violation under any Federal law and includes conviction of an offense defined in a section of the United States Code that specifically classifies the offense as a felony and conviction of an offense that is classified as a felony under 18 U.S.C. 3559.

  • Dishonest or Fraudulent Act means any dishonest or fraudulent act, including “larceny and embezzlement” as defined in Section 37 of the Investment Company Act of 1940, committed with the conscious manifest intent (1) to cause the Insured to sustain a loss and (2) to obtain financial benefit for the perpetrator or any other person (other than salaries, commissions, fees, bonuses, awards, profit sharing, pensions or other employee benefits). A Dishonest or Fraudulent Act does not mean or include a reckless act, a negligent act, or a grossly negligent act.

  • competent official means a person appointed by the Minister for the execution of this Act;

  • Offense means a felony, gross misdemeanor, or crime of moral turpitude.

  • Misdemeanor means a violation of a penal law of this state or violation of a local ordinance substantially corresponding to a violation of a penal law of this state that is not a felony or a violation of an order, rule, or regulation of a state agency that is punishable by imprisonment or a fine that is not a civil fine, or both.

  • Licensed health care practitioner means a physician, as defined in Section 1861(r)(1) of the Social Security Act, a registered professional nurse, licensed social worker or other individual who meets requirements prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury.
