Alternative Service. A leave of absence without pay for up to two (2) school years shall be granted to any tenured unit member who joins the Peace Corps, VISTA, National Teacher Corps, or serves as an exchange teacher or overseas teacher and is a full-time participant in any such program.

Alternative Service. When unable to serve with the sponsor organization or service site due to school breaks, extended agency holidays, inclement weather, etc., activities will be developed for Members to continue service.
Alternative Service. Alternative service is a direct service activity performed outside of a Member’s regular service activity. Alternative service must be pre-approved and verified by the project site staff. Oversight is generally provided by another organization. City must provide 2163 twenty-four (24) hours’ prior written notice to Contractor during the period of such event, before contracting 2164 with another Solid Waste Collection enterprise to Collect any or all Garbage, Organic Waste and C&D that 2165 Contractor would otherwise collect pursuant to this Agreement for the duration of period during which 2166 Contractor is unable to provide such services. In such event, Contractor must undertake commercially 2167 reasonable efforts to identify sources from which such substitute Collection Services are immediately 2168 available and must reimburse City for all of its expenses for such substitute Collection Services during period 2169 in which Contractor is unable to provide Collection Services required by this Agreement. 2170 Article 24. Modifications to the Agreement‌ 2171 24.01 City-Directed Change. City has the power to make changes in this Agreement to impose 2172 new rules and regulations on Contractor under this Agreement relative to the scope and methods of providing 2173 Collection Services as may from time-to-time be necessary and desirable for the public welfare. Alternative Service. Customer agrees that in the event Customer determines to transfer its Global Shopping Network programming service (or any successor thereto) from GE Americom's C-4 satellite to another satellite, Customer will so notify GE Americom in writing ("Customer's Notice"). Within thirty days of GE Americom's receipt of Customer's Notice, GE Americom will advise Customer in writing whether GE Americom can provide a transponder on a GE Americom satellite (the "Other Satellite") to accommodate Customer's requirements. If GE Americom advises Customer that GE Americom can accommodate such requirements, Customer and GE Americom shall execute an agreement for service on the Other Satellite upon terms and conditions substantially the same, other than price, as are specified in the C-4 Satellite Preemptible Transponder Service and Restoration Services Agreement, dated as of March 27, 1996, between Customer and GE Americom. In the event Customer and GE Americom cannot, within sixty days of the date of Customer's Notice, agree on a price for service on the Other Satellite, this Article 14 will become null and void. Further, GE Americom will notify Customer in writing within thirty days of GE Americom's receipt of Customer's Notice, whether the Uplink Service can be used in connection with the Other Satellite. If GE Americom notifies Customer that the Uplink Service can be so used, this Agreement shall be amended to specify such use in lieu of use of the Uplink Service to the C-4 satellite. All other terms and conditions of this Agreement will remain the same. If GE Americom notifies Customer that the Uplink Service cannot be so used (the "Negative Notice"), Customer may, by written notice to GE Americom given within thirty days of Customer's receipt of the Negative Notice, terminate this Agreement, effective on the later of May 1, 1997, or sixty days after Customer's receipt of the Negative Notice.
Alternative Service. In the event Thomson terminates this Agreement within the first Contract Year prior to the time that it actually delivers the Thomson/MarketWatch Service to Thomson Clients and Thomson has paid MarketWatch the Service Fee pursuant to Section 5(c)(i), during the Non-Compete Period MarketWatch shall deliver to Thomson its best available financial newswire service with service parameters which are no less than those provided to any other MarketWatch customer for such service at such time, and after the Non-Compete Period through the end of the Unwind Period MarketWatch shall deliver to Thomson its best generally available financial newswire service with service parameters which are no less than those provided to any other MarketWatch customer for such service at such time. In consideration for providing Thomson with such newswire service, Thomson shall pay MarketWatch its share of the Service Revenues in accordance with Section 5(e) but shall no longer have any obligation to pay MarketWatch any further Service Fee under Section 5(c).

School breaks such as winter and spring breaks should not be considered vacations for Members.
