Hiring of Retirees. 1. The District may elect to hire PERS Chapter 238 Program retirees as temporary employees under the following terms and conditions:  Retirees must hold a current Oregon teaching license and any necessary endorsement(s).  Retirees from Xxxx Xxxxx will be paid at the same column and step placement as earned prior to retirement. Retirees new to the District will be placed on the salary schedule according to Article 15, Section A #2.  Retirees will be granted the use of paid leave, prorated for the period of employment, as outlined in Article 18 of this Agreement.  Retirees and the District shall not be subject to participation in the PERS retirement system contributions, nor any compensation in lieu of PERS contributions.  Retirees will be eligible for all insurance benefits as outlined in Article 16 of this Agreement, including the District’s maximum contribution. At the end of the temporary employment period retirees who qualify will begin receiving benefits as outlined in the Contract Between Xxxx Xxxxx Education Association/LUBC and Xxxx Xxxxx School District for Supplemental Retirement Benefits (2000- 2021).

Where a vacancy exists which the Board may fill by hiring a qualified employee, the Board may consider and employ a Retiree for any such vacancy in the Retiree’s job classification upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.   • EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS A. For purposes of salary schedule placement, a retired Teacher will be granted a maximum of ten (10) years’ service credit and their educational attainment. A retired Teacher may not advance beyond Level 10 on the salary schedule.

  • Benefits for Retirees The Employer will continue payment of Extended Health, Semi-Private Health Care Coverage or equivalent for any employee from the date of early retirement to the age of sixty-five (65). For purposes of this Agreement, a retiree shall be defined as a person who has given the Agency written notice that he/she is separating from State service by retirement and that person has actually separated from State service.
