Hours of Work Overtime Premium Pay. 7.1 Hours of Work Forty (40) hours of work shall constitute a full week's work, unless otherwise provided by law, code, or this Agreement. For employees assigned to the Main Jail complex or to the Elmwood complex, the normal workday shall consist of a shift of either eight (8), ten (10), or a modified Twelve (12) Plan consisting of six and one-half (6.5) or twelve and one-quarter (12.25) hours per workday, depending upon assignment and as set forth hereinafter. For employees assigned to the Support Services, Specialized Unit: Programs and Classifications, the normal workday shall consist of a shift of either eight (8), ten (10), or a modified Twelve (12) Plan consisting of eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per workday, depending upon assignment and as set forth hereinafter.

The normal day shift for Building Inspectors and Senior Inspectors is 8:00 AM. to 5:00 PM. The normal day shift for VMC Hospital workers is 7:15 AM. to 3:45 PM. The normal day shift for Facilities and Fleet Workers is 7:00 AM. to 3:30 PM. Evening/ Swing Shift is 3:00PM. to 11:30 PM. Night Shift/ Graveyard Shift is 11:00 PM. to 7:30 AM. The normal workweek for all classifications represented by this agreement is Monday through Friday. Night Shift/ Graveyard Shift, the work week will be Sunday Night through Friday morning. Alternate Work Hours It is understood that workers have the right to meet and confer at the department level on alternate hours. The parties agree that shift selection may be based on seniority, merit, and ability, as methods for determining shift assignments; however, the department may establish other criteria based on operational considerations. If an employee has attendance or performance issues, management may move them to an appropriate shift for supervisory purposes.
Hours of Work Overtime Premium Pay. 10.1 The regular work week for employees occupying full time positions shall consist of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour workdays beginning on Monday at the regularly scheduled starting time for each department, or as agreed upon with the Department Head. If the City adjusts a shift starting time for a specific temporary assignment, the employee shall have the choice of overtime or time off for the shift adjustment. Upon notification of the Union and within the above limitations, the City will assign starting and ending times for the various departments during the term of this Memorandum. Exceptions to this Section for individuals may be made by agreement between the City and the employee.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME 12.01 The following paragraphs and sections are intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week, or of days of work per week.

  • 00 - HOURS OF WORK 14.01 The Employer does not guarantee to provide work to any employee for regularly assigned hours or any other hours, except as provided for in Article 18.00. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a normal day of work. The normal hours of work shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for an eight (8) hour day, with one-half or one hour for lunch at the midpoint of the shift. Forty (40) hours shall constitute a normal week's work, Monday through Friday inclusive.   • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).
