Common use of Short Term Clause in Contracts

Short Term. Employees who lost time due to obligatory short-term emergency or annual unit training duty with the National Guard or military reserves may be granted leave with regular pay consistent with their official military orders up to a period of fifteen (15) working days per annum. During the fifteen (15) day period, accrual of benefits will continue. In order to implement this policy, the employee must present the Board with a copy of his/her military orders. In the absence of supporting documents, lost time due to military training or emergency duty shall be uncompensated. If a 10-month employee has an option as to when he/she participates in short-term duty, he/she shall do so at the time which has least conflict with his/her professional duties.
