Time Off Without Loss of Pay. (i) to attend the complaint or grievance meetings with Employer representatives, or arbitration hearings held in accordance with Clause 15 of this Agreement, and/or any additional pre- arbitration grievance related meetings agreed to by the Employer. Time Off Without Loss of Pay. The City agrees to allow time off without loss of pay for the following: • A designated Union representative shall be granted limited time for the handling of grievances, elections and contract ratification votes provided there is no additional cost to the City; • A reasonable amount of time shall be granted to the president and to the vice- president of AFSCME Local 114-F for the conduct of business directly pertaining to the administration of the agreement, provided that there is no additional cost to the City; and • An employee designated as the AFSCME Local 114-F Civil Service representative will be allowed to attend Civil Service meetings when there is an item on the agenda pertaining to Local 114-F. This applies to hours which coincide with his/her regular work shift. The parties agree to make every reasonable effort to avoid additional cost to the City. • A designated Union representative will be allowed to attend labor relations conferences determined by the City to be of mutual benefit to the parties, provided there is no additional cost to the City. Union members engaged in the above activities shall not leave their work stations without the prior approval of their supervisor, and shall notify their supervisors upon return to their work station.
Time Off Without Loss of Pay. The Union may request, and the City may grant, time off without loss of pay to Union representatives to assist the City in the formulation of policies and procedures mutually beneficial to the City and the Union. However, such time off shall be at the discretion of the City Manager.

Related to Time Off Without Loss of Pay

  • Without Loss of Pay (1) to stewards, or their alternates, to perform their duties as per Clause 3.6 (Recognition and Rights of Stewards);

  • Authorized Leave Without Pay A. Agency/Departmental Leave‌ A regular, limited-term or probationary employee may request an agency/departmental leave without pay for a period of time not to exceed fifteen (15) calendar days. The granting of such Leave shall be at the discretion of the agency/department, except in cases where Official Leave has been authorized pursuant to B.4., B.5. and Sections 10, 11.A. and 14, below. The agency/department head may require that all accumulated compensatory leave time be used prior to granting of agency/departmental leave. The use of earned vacation or annual leave prior to the obtaining of agency/departmental leave shall be at the option of the employee.

  • Parental Leave Without Pay (a) Where an employee has or will have the actual care and custody of a new-born child (including the new-born child of a common-law partner), the employee shall, upon request, be granted parental leave without pay for a single period of up to thirty-seven (37) consecutive weeks in the fifty-two (52) week period beginning on the day on which the child is born or the day on which the child comes into the employee’s care.

  • Other Leave Without Pay At its discretion, the Employer may grant leave without pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including enrolment in the Canadian Armed Forces and election to a full-time municipal office.

  • Termination without Notice The Employer may terminate an Employee’s employment without notice if the Employee engages in serious misconduct.

  • Education Leave Without Pay I. The Employer recognizes the usefulness of education leave. Upon written application by the employee and with the approval of the Employer, an employee may be granted education leave without pay for varying periods of up to one (1) year, which can be renewed by mutual agreement, to attend a recognized institution for studies in some field of education in which preparation is needed to fill the employee’s present role more adequately or to undertake studies in some field in order to provide a service which the Employer requires or is planning to provide.
