Immediate family or household definition

Immediate family or household means: • an Employee’s spouse, child, parent, grandchild, grandparent or sibling; • a child, parent, grandchild, grandparent, or sibling of the spouse of the Employee; • for the purpose of this Clause, the word child means an adopted child, a stepchild, an exnuptial child or an adult child; • for the purpose of this Clause, the word spouse means a former spouse, a de facto spouse or a former de facto spouse.

Examples of Immediate family or household in a sentence

  • Immediate family or household for the purpose of this Section shall include: father, mother, sister, brother, spouse, child, or grandchild related by blood, marriage, or adoption, grandfather, grandmother, father/mother-in-law, brother/sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece/nephew, and legal guardians.

  • Immediate family or household member shall be defined as spouse, children, parents, sibling, mother-in-law, father-in-law, or a person residing in the same household as the employee.

  • Immediate family or household shall be defined as stated in the School Code, Section 24-6, which includes parents, spouse, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, grandparents, parents-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and legal guardian.

  • The notice must be to the effect that the Employee requires the leave because of a personal illness or injury or to provide care or support to a member of the Employee’s Immediate family or household as the member is suffering either a personal illness or injury or an unexpected emergency.

  • Immediate family or household shall be defined as stated in the School Code, Section 24-6.
