Relief personnel definition

Relief personnel means qualified individuals who have been hired to substitute for staff members:
Relief personnel means specialized personnel, including military personnel, engaged in the provision of disaster relief assistance on behalf of an assisting State or other assisting actor, as appropriate, having at their disposal the necessary equipment and goods;
Relief personnel means civilian or military personnel sent by an assisting State or other assisting actor for the purpose of providing disaster relief assistance;

Relief personnel are required to work flexible shifts and provide coverage “as required” by the operational unit. Rates of pay for relief personnel shall reflect the fact their work schedules vary in order to meet the needs of the operation.
