Common use of Advances on Weekly Indemnity Clause in Contracts

Advances on Weekly Indemnity. ‌ During the period of time the employee’s claim is being considered by the Insurance Company, and if payment is not made by the Insurance Company for Weekly Indemnity claims within two weeks of submission of the applicable claim, on the written request of the affected employee the Employer shall then advance to the employee an amount equal to his/her entitlement on a bi-weekly basis, not to exceed a maximum total advance of eight weeks. Such written requests shall be on a form as prescribed by the Employer which includes appropriate terms and conditions associated with the advance. Advances made by the Employer for claims later found to be invalid or payments made by the Employer which are later paid by the Insurance Company shall be returnable to the Employer based on the terms of the prescribed form.
