APPOINTMENTS AND EVALUATION OF FACULTY. Section A, Role of Faculty Bylaws. The Faculty Bylaws shall govern all areas related to appointments and evaluation that require the exercise of academic judgment. Areas requiring the exercise of academic judgment are: 1. setting criteria for initial appointment (Section 5.100), promotion and tenure (Section 5.200), evaluation (Section 5.300), and sabbatical leave (Section 5.400); and 2. decision-making by appropriate academic authorities, whether faculty members or administrators, based on the aforementioned criteria. This Agreement shall govern all other areas related to appointments and evaluation.
