Common use of Approvals and Substitutions Clause in Contracts

Approvals and Substitutions. Subcontractor shall deliver to Contractor copies of shop drawings, cuts, samples and material lists required by Contractor or the Contract Documents in accordance with the Contract Documents within sufficient time so as not to delay performance of the Project and within the time stated in the Contract Documents. Notwithstanding any general approval granted by Contractor or Owner, all work shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents. Contractor's processing of shop drawings, cuts, samples and material lists is only for the convenience of the Owner in following the work and shall not relieve the Subcontractor from responsibility for any deviations from the requirements of the Contract Documents. No substitutions shall be made in the Subcontractor's Work unless permitted in the Contract Documents and only then after first receiving all necessary approvals required under the Contract Documents for substitutions.
