Arrangements for the discharge of functions. 5.1 The Councils agree to use their powers under section 101(1) of the Local Government Xxx 0000, sections 19 and 20 of the Local Government Act 2000 and all other enabling powers to enter into arrangements under which the Joint Committee shall discharge and undertake on their behalf those matters set out in the terms of reference of the Joint Committee in Schedule 3 to this Agreement with the purpose of supporting the Councils to discharge their statutory duties and functions.
