Common use of ASSAULTS ON TEACHERS Clause in Contracts

ASSAULTS ON TEACHERS. The parties recognize their mutual responsibility to provide the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom. In the event of an assault upon a teacher, causing bodily harm requiring medical attention, directly related to the performance of his/her duty, the District shall render reasonable assistance to the teacher in connection with the handling of the incident by law enforcement and judicial authorities. Time lost, by reason of any assault, shall not result in loss of pay or leave time. However, losses compensated for by Worker’s Compensation shall not be compensated under this section.
