Assignment Policy. The University will not discriminate in room or unit assignments on the basis of race, colour, religion, place of origin, ancestry or sexual orientation. The University will attempt to honour, but does not guarantee, your request for a particular type of accommodation. Failure to provide your preferred accommodation will not invalidate this Contract. The University reserves the right, without notice, to assign or change roommates, to change accommodation assignments and/or to consolidate vacancies by requiring you or other residents to move from one accommodation to another. This may include requiring you to move to a different residence area, floor, building or different type of room or unit. If this happens to you, you are required to pay the residence fees stipulated for the new accommodation, including the meal plan, if applicable. If you or your guests have mobility or agility disabilities, you are welcome to request an assignment to a unit located above the ground floor. Nevertheless, please note that elevators do break down occasionally, and may be out of order for an extended period. Inconveniences may occur for those who are unable to navigate stairs. The University will take action to repair any malfunctioning equipment promptly, however it is not responsible for service disruptions which limit access to your accommodation. Mobility aids or devices (for example wheel chairs, mobility scooters) are to be kept in your residence bedroom unless written permission to store them elsewhere has been obtained from the Residence Life Manager.
Assignment Policy. The University agrees to assign space only after the applicant has submitted the University Deposit and housing application. Priority of assignment for all students is based on the date the signed Residence Hall Occupancy Contract is received. Requests for specific roommates will be honored based on priority date and availability of space.
Assignment Policy. The University will attempt to honor requests from non-freshmen Residents for accommodations, but accommodation preferences are not guaranteed. The University reserves the right to assign more occupants to a room than the established capacity on a temporary basis when the demand for housing exceeds the spaces available. Furthermore, the University reserves the right to assign roommates, to change room or hall assignments, and/or to consolidate vacancies by requiring Residents to move from one accommodation to another in the event such reassignments are determined to be necessary by the University. The University also reserves the right to assign a new Resident to a vacancy that may occur in the residence halls at any time. No prior notice of a new roommate to the Residents sharing that residence hall space is required. THE DEPARTMENT OF RESIDENTIAL LIFE WILL ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE FALL SEMESTER ROOM ASSIGNMENTS AND ROOMMATE INFORMATION BY AUGUST 1 TO NEW RESIDENTS WHO HAVE SUBMITTED ALL REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS AND PAYMENTS BY THE INITIAL CLOSURE DEADLINE OF THE ONLINE APPLICABLE CAMPUS HOUSING PORTAL. Failure to receive an assignment does not cancel the Agreement. Residents who do not receive assignments before leaving for the University should check with the Department of Residential Life upon arrival at the University. Unless written notification of late arrival has been received by the Department of Residential Life, Resident’s room assignment is subject to being cancelled at 9:00 am on the first day of classes if the Resident has not checked in by that time. If possible, reassignment will be made upon arrival. However, the cancellation of a room assignment or Resident’s failure to check in by the required time does not in any way affect a Resident’s obligations under this Agreement.
Assignment Policy. In making Apartment Unit assignments, the Landlord will not honor any request that discriminates on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, personal appearance, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, or on the basis of the exercise of rights secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. The Landlord shall have the sole right to determine all Apartment Unit assignments and reserves the right to change Apartment Unit assignments and/or reassign Premises in Landlord’s sole and absolute discretion. The Landlord reserves the right to consolidate Apartment Unit Assignments and to assign a new Tenant into any Apartment Unit that falls below permissible occupancy. The Landlord shall not be liable for failure to give any Tenant possession or occupancy of a specific, assigned Premises on the Lease Commencement Date. Alternative housing will be provided by the Landlord on the basis of availability.

Fort Xxxx State University will not discriminate in room or building assignment on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status or ancestry. Returning students will be able to select their room in accordance with university reassignment and selection procedures. The university reserves the right to place limits on the number of residents to be reassigned in order to maximize space for new residents. New residents will be assigned to their preferred building to the extent possible. Failure to honor assignment preferences will not void this contract. The university reserves the right to change room or building assignments, to assign roommates, or to consolidate vacancies. Students who complete a contract but do not select a room will be assigned according to the Residential Life policy.

The Division will not discriminate in assigning rooms or roommates to the University Residence Halls on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, familial status, political affiliation, veteran’s status, or age. The Division will do its best to honor student preferences for an assignment, however, there is no guarantee of an assignment to a particular room type, residence hall, learning community, or neighborhood. Students can be assigned to single, double, or triple rooms, or to Expanded Housing. All residents with a binding contract will receive assignment information in mid-June 2018. Students assigned to Expanded Housing will move once a permanent assignment has been provided. Failure to honor assignment preferences, assignments made later in the summer, or an assignment to Expanded Housing are not grounds for a release from the contract. Room changes may be requested beginning the first day of classes as noted in Section 20. The Division reserves the right to change room or hall assignments, to assign roommates, or to consolidate vacancies by requiring you to move from single occupancy of a double room to double occupancy of a double room in the same hall. The Division reserves the right to assign additional residents above the design capacity of designated rooms. As deemed necessary, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Vice Chancellor-for Finance & Administration or designee may relocate any resident without cause or prior notice for health or safety reasons or to protect University property, restore operations, or meet the needs of the University community. Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere in the University Residence Halls including student rooms and public areas such as dens, hallways, and bathrooms. Smoking is also prohibited outside within 25 feet of any University Residence Hall and/or dining facility.

The Residence Life Office will not discriminate in assignment to University residences on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender and/or gender identity or expression, disability, national origin or ancestry, or any other category protected by law. Failure to honor assignment preferences will not void the contract. The Residence Life Office reserves the right to change apartment, room or building assignments, to assign roommates, or to consolidate vacancies by requiring residents to move from single occupancy of double rooms to double occupancy. The Residence Life Office also reserves the right to consolidate students together in temporary housing accommodations in the event of unforeseen emergency.

Failure to honor assignment preferences will not void this contract. The university reserves the right to alter any aspect of this housing contract, without notice, if circumstances warrant.
Assignment Policy. 1. Selection: Fall quarter residents will choose their own room during Self-Selection. The University will consider the information indicated in the Preferences section of the application should the Resident not choose a room or cannot access Self-Selection, including applicants for Winter and Spring quarters. No guarantee of a specific assignment is offered or implied at any time prior to final room assignment.
