AVID Mission and Purpose. AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID Center is a non-profit corporation formed to strengthen and support the AVID community through: a focus on the implementation of the AVID College Readiness System to assure quality; national leadership in education; innovation through current research; and service to schools with quality and depth.
