Beginning Teacher Support Program (BTSA. 23 The purpose of the Program is to deliver beginning teacher-centered quality services that will 24 enhance the academic achievement and over-all growth of students. 1 1. The prime focus of the Program is to provide beginning teachers, who participate in 2 BTSA, enhanced professional growth and development and increase their 3 competency through a comprehensive induction process. 4 2. Eligibility requirements to participate in the program are as follows: 5 a. Meet the state eligibility requirements. 6 b. Be a credentialed teacher in the District. 7 c. Agree to fulfill program participation requirements a minimum of two 8 semesters. A maximum of two years is preferable. 9 3. Teachers shall gain a professional voice by working closely with experienced 10 colleagues to chart their own progress through the continuum of skills, knowledge, 11 and abilities associated with each of the six Standards of the Teaching profession 12 (CSTP) and the California Formative Assessment and Support System for Teachers 13 (CFASST). 14 4. All activities between consulting teacher and BTSA teacher are confidential.
