BILINGUALISM BONUS. 27.01 The Employer agrees that a Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year shall be payable to all eligible employees of the Natural Resources Union who are required by the Employer to read, write, understand and speak both official languages in order to communicate with the membership and with any person, other than regular employees of the Natural Resources Employees, other Components and the P.S.A.C. with whom the Natural Resources Employees must establish and maintain communication, when such employees are recognized by the Employer as meeting the language proficiency requirements for their positions. BILINGUALISM BONUS. 27.01 The Employer agrees that 29.01 An employee who is required and qualified to use a Bilingualism Bonus second language shall be paid a bilingual bonus of $800 per year 1000.
29.02 Employees may be subject to retesting in accordance with clause 29.06.
29.03 The employer shall have the right to specify the language requirement of any position. The employer shall give reasonable notice to the incumbent employee and to the union of any proposed change in the language requirements of a position and shall consult with the union prior to any change being implemented.
29.04 If the employer changes the language requirements on a position that is occupied, whether the change is that of designating it bilingual or raising the level of competency required, or if an employee is not successful on re-testing, the incumbent of that position shall have the right to receive language training necessary to meet the revised language requirements. Lost time and expenses for language training shall be payable to all eligible employees paid by the employer.
29.05 Employees shall not suffer any adverse effects beyond forfeiture of the Natural Resources Union who are required by the Employer to read, write, understand and speak both official languages in order to communicate with the membership and with any person, other than regular employees bilingual bonus as a result of the Natural Resources Employees, other Components and the P.S.A.C. with whom the Natural Resources Employees must establish and maintain communication, when such employees are recognized by the Employer as not meeting the language proficiency requirements for their positions. Employees not paid of a bilingualism bonus shall only be required to work in the designated language of her position.
27.02 29.06 The Employer agrees that standards and tests for the Bilingualism Bonus will bilingual bonus shall be paid to its employees as long as it will be paid in accordance with those administered in the public service by the Public Service or for any longer period that may be decided by the EmployerCommission.
27.03 An eligible employee (a) Part-time employees shall be entitled to receive the Bilingualism Bonus benefits, including leave entitlements, provided under this Agreement in the same proportion as their normal scheduled weekly hours of work compared with the normal weekly hours of work of full-time employees with the exception of bereavement leave.
(b) a part-time employee shall earn sick leave credits at the rate of one-quarter (1/4) of the number of hours in an employee’s normal work week for any each calendar month in which the employee has received a minimum pay for at least twice (2T) the number of ten (10) days' payhours in the employee’s normal work week.
27.04 An eligible 30.02 Notwithstanding the provisions of 30.01, an employee is entitled who, in her or his career with the employer, worked a combination of full-time and part-time shall receive Severance Pay, pursuant to receive Article 24, at the Bilingualism Bonus during any period of paid leave up to a maximum of sixty (60) consecutive calendar days.
27.05 The Bilingualism Bonus shall be a flat annual amount of $800 calculated on a monthly basis and payment will be included in the normal bifull-weekly pay cheque.
27.06 The Bilingualism Bonus shall be considered as part of an employee's time week’s salary for those years, and portions of years, she or he worked full-time and at the purpose equivalent of the following: - PSAC Pension Plan - Canada her or Quebec Pension Plan - PSAC Income Protection Plan - Worker's Compensation - PSAC Group Life Insurance - Unemployment Insurance
27.07 The Bilingualism Bonus will not be considered as part his part-time week’s salary for those years, and portions of an employee's salary entitlements for the following:
a) transfer;
b) promotion;
c) overtime calculation;
d) severance pay.
27.08 When an employee is notified by the Employer years, that she is no longer eligible to receive the Bilingualism Bonus, the notice of termination to the employee shall be provided two (2) months prior to its effector he worked part-time.
