Building Check. Any staff member who is requested to check out a building unit after regular school hours will receive a minimum of 2 hours of overtime pay or the actual amount of time spent on the job, whichever is greater. If the check is made on a paid holiday listed in Article 28 of this agreement, the employee will receive the minimum hours specified above or hours actually worked, whichever is larger, plus equal compensatory time on a pre-approved date within one month of the call out. No payment will be made without prior approval of the Director of Building Operations.

Building Check. An employee who has a building check on Saturday will be paid two hours at time-and-a half if there is no other activity scheduled in the building. Additionally, any employee who is called into work in an emergency situation outside his/her normal work shift shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours. Overtime pay provisions will apply as appropriate.

Building Check. Head custodians will be paid their rate at time and a half (1½x) for forty-five (45) minutes per day to check their building(s) on weekends and holidays. The Maintenance Supervisor will determine the guidelines for building checks. In the event of an emergency check at a building during nights and weekends, the first responder (as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor) will be called. These emergencies will be paid at time and a half (1½x) at the regular rate of pay. Holiday emergencies will be paid at two (2x) times their regular rate of pay.

Building Check. All day shift custodians are required to check their building on the weekends unless on vacation. In that case, the supervisor will appoint a custodian in that building to take their place for a Sunday check if no building activity occurs during the weekend. Any employee who returns to check the building on the weekend and take alarm drops shall be paid a minimum of one hour pay at a time and one-half of the employee's regular hourly rate.
Building Check. During the heating season (Mid-October to Mid-March) a custodian responsible for checking a building, boiler or boilers within that building on weekends and/or holidays shall receive: (a) One (1) hour pay at time and one half rate for Saturdays and BOARD “Off-Days.” (b) One (1) hour pay at double time rate for Sundays and holidays. (c) When the ambient temperature or the physical characteristics of a building dictates the need for heat, in any of the buildings prior to Mid-October or after Mid- March, buildings shall be checked on the day preceding the beginning of a school day.
Building Check. There shall be an inspection of the buildings on Saturday, Sunday and holidays only at the request of the Executive Director of Facilities, Operations and Transportation. This inspection shall be by the head employee of the buildings or by a substitute appointed by the administration or delegate appointed by the head employee. The employee conducting the building check will receive a stipend. Overtime will be paid in addition to the stipend when the building check exceeds one hour, and the employee works 40 hours during the workweek. The building check stipend for the respective building category shall be in accordance with the following: Elementary & Non-school sites - $50 Middle School - $50 High School - $50 If an employee must respond to an emergency alarm outside of the employee’s scheduled shift the employee will be paid a $75 stipend. Overtime will be paid in addition to the stipend when the emergency alarm exceeds one hour, and the employee works 40 hours during the workweek.
