C RAIN WATER PIPES. (a) A.C pipes shall be of asbestos cement conforming to IS: 1626 and diameter as specified in drawing. (b) A.C Pipes shall be fixed by M.S. brackets/clamps to brick / concrete work, and steel work as per drawings and directions of Engineer – in – charge. All clamps and brackets etc. shall be painted with two coats of approved enamel paint. (c) The pipes shall be jointed with gaskets of hemp or jute yarn dipped in coal tar and grouted with 1:2 cement mortar. Care shall be taken to ensure that no joining material projects inside the bore of the pipe. (d) The erection of pipes shall start from the bottom upwards. (e) Payment shall be made on running metre basis inclusive of all specials, bends, cowls, shoes, clamps, brackets, fixing embedding in concrete or brick work if necessary etc..
