Common use of Casual Absences Clause in Contracts

Casual Absences. Division heads, college presidents, or their designated representatives may grant to employees permission to be absent without loss of salary for parts of a day not exceeding one-half (1/2) day when good reason for such absence exists, provided that this power shall not be construed to mean a right to reduce the established number of working hours per month of the employee; and provided further that in no case shall the work of the department be materially retarded by the granting of such absence.
