Common use of Cognate Department Clause in Contracts

Cognate Department. “Cognate department” shall, for purposes of Articles VI, VIII and VIII-C of this Agreement, mean a department determined by the Vice President to be a department the academic discipline of which is by common practice in the academic world deemed to be related to the academic discipline of the department in question or of the library. The Vice President may determine that the library is cognate to a department.
