To improve prisoners access to an appropriate range and quality of NHS health care services according to their needs. ❖ To reduce health inequalities. ❖ To preserve life and reduce harm. ❖ To provide a safe, secure environment for the health assessment and treatment of prisoners. ❖ To ensure that all relevant information is gathered consistently, preserved, analysed and exchanged appropriately and within both the law and applicable protocols. ❖ To work with other agencies to maintain this common purpose.
