The COMMUNICATION OPERATORS clause defines the rules and procedures for how parties to the agreement must communicate with each other, particularly regarding official notices, requests, or other formal correspondence. COMMUNICATION OPERATORS. The City shall provide department issued polo shirts and a jacket or sweater. Employees will provide agreed upon pants, shoes, and belt. The quantity, quality and style will be mutually agreed upon between the City and the BCEA as outlined in Exhibit L. Replacement polo shirts, jackets and sweaters shall be provided as needed during the year except that employees will bear the replacement cost if the item is lost or is deliberately damaged or significantly faded by the employee. COMMUNICATION OPERATORS. In the event an employee has been on leave of absence, or extended sick leave, the City reserves the right to pro-rate the clothing allowance, as provided in this article, at its discretion. After the initial issue, clothing shall be replaced only on an as-needed basis at the discretion of the Supervisor. Any employee who is supplied with clothing and through carelessness or neglect, damages, destroys, or loses same, shall replace or pay for same. Cabs shall be supplied on all open equipment, either permanent or portable cabs, where practical and possible. When management decides that an investigative meeting is necessary to determine whether or not disciplinary action may be taken against an employee, the employee shall have the right to have a Union representative present.
