(b) The Employer will provide orientation or in-service which is necessary for the safe performance of work, the safe use of equipment, safe techniques for lifting and supporting clients/residents and the safe handling of materials and products. The Employer will also make readily available information, manuals and procedures for these purposes. The Employer will provide appropriate safety clothing and equipment. (c) The Employer agrees to provide to employees’ violence prevention training based on the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC) program. Where operational requirements allow, the curriculum may be completed during scheduled work hours. By mutual agreement between the Employer and employee, these modules may be completed outside of regular scheduled work hours. The modules and in-person sessions of the program that are applicable to the employee according to the program shall be considered an in-service under Article 19. (d) The Employer shall provide appropriate violence prevention refresher training to employees as required by the Employer. When an employee requests violence prevention refresher training, the Employer shall consider the request and approve such requests where the Employer deems it appropriate based on the needs of the employee. Such requests shall not be unreasonably refused. Refresher training shall be considered an in-service under Article19.2. (e) Employees who experience harassment extending from incidents related to client/resident or visitor at the workplace may report the situation through the Employer’s OHS incidents reporting system or file a complaint pursuant to the Employer’s respectful workplace policy.
