Complement of Chairs. For each department (career programor subject clusterdefined by the College)which consists of three (3) or more faculty a chair shall be appointed. Every faculty member shall belong to a chair will have a reduced teaching load established from time to time by the ▇▇▇▇ or director and vice-president in consultation with the chair. Appointment of Chairs Each position shall be advertised internally and filled without external advertising if a suitable candidate is found. The President, or designate, shall appoint chairs on the recommendationof specify inwriting proceduresfor adequate in the selection process. Term of Office of Chairs The term of office shall be three (3) years with the position being declared vacant and posted priortotheendofthe of the incumbentwill be automatically renewed if no applications for the position besides the incumbent's are received.An evaluationwill be conducted at least once in each chair's term.An evaluation may be conductedat any time during the term of the appointment and may result in an early termination of the chair's ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇ addition, an evaluation will be conducted upon a request of other employees within the department, When a chair position is vacated during the term, the position shall be posted for two (2) weeks, and a replacement appointed as soon thereafter as is practical. Qualifications of Chairs Each chair position will be filled by a member of the given department unless there are no suitableapplicantsfrom successfulcandidatewill bequalified in at least one area of the department's expertise. Allocation of Chair Positions The Employer does not plan to redefine departments for the purpose of making significant adjustments in chair ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇ the College grows and changes, past practicewill be a major consideration in the allocation of chair positions and release time.
