The Continuation Health Coverage clause ensures that individuals who lose their health insurance coverage, typically due to events like job loss or reduction in work hours, have the right to continue their existing health insurance for a limited period. This provision generally applies to employees and their dependents, allowing them to maintain the same group health plan benefits by paying the full premium themselves. Its core function is to provide a safety net, preventing sudden loss of health coverage and offering time to secure alternative insurance.
Continuation Health Coverage. If the Employer so permits and the Participant, Spouse or Dependent becomes eligible for continuation coverage under a Benefit Option that is a group health plan in accordance with the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (“COBRA”) or any similar state law, the Participant may elect to increase payments under such group health plan(s) to pay for continuation coverage.
Continuation Health Coverage. Seller shall have sole liability with respect to offering and providing continuation health coverage as described in Section 4980B of the Code to any eligible Company Employee and his or her eligible dependents who incur a qualifying event (as defined in Section 4980B of the Code) on or before the Seller Employment Termination Date (or as to Company Employees on short-term disability leave on such date, on or before the date of employment by Buyer). Buyer shall have sole liability with respect to offering and providing continuation health coverage as described in Section 4980B of the Code to any eligible Continuing Employee and his or her eligible dependents who incur a qualifying event (as defined in Section 4980B of the Code) after the Seller Employment Termination Date (or as to Company Employees on short-term disability leave on such date, after the date of employment by Buyer).
Continuation Health Coverage. Sky Chefs will assume any obligations LSG may have to offer continuation health coverage to current or former LSG employees and their beneficiaries at the employees' own costs and as required by COBRA or applicable laws.
