Contractors Must Use E-Verify. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-133.3, the Owner may not enter into this Contract unless the Contractor and the Contractor's subcontractors comply with Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the General Statutes, which requires employers and their subcontractors with 25 or more employees, as defined in Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the N.C. General Statutes, to comply with E-Verify requirements set out therein. E-Verify is a program operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies to verify the work authorization of newly hired employees. The Contactor shall comply with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the General Statutes; and, by entering into this Contract, the Contractor certifies that it is presently in compliance with said requirements. The Contractor further agrees that it shall require any and all subcontractors employed to perform any part of the Contract to comply with Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the General Statutes. The Contractor shall verify, by affidavit, compliance of the terms of this section upon request by the Owner.
