Controlling DoD Office. The DoD activity that sponsored the work that generated the Product or received the Product on behalf of the Department of Defense and, therefore, has the responsibility for determining the distribution of the Product. For joint sponsorship, the controlling office is determined by advance agreement and may be a party, group, or committee representing the interested activities or the DoD Components.
