CONTROLS AND AUDITS. II.17.1. The IOC will have the power to audit documents held by natural or legal persons benefiting from payments from the IOC budget from the signature of the contract until five years after the payment of the balance. II.17.2. The ES or an external body of its choice will have the same rights as the IOC with regard to controls and audits concerning the fulfilment of the contractual obligations from the signature of the contract until five years after the payment of the balance. II.17.3. In addition, the IOC may carry out on–the–spot checks and inspections from the date of the contract until five years after payment of the balance.
