The Commission and the Beneficiary shall endeavour to ensure that all activities and the objectives pursued with the im- plementation of the programme are consistent with the European Union law and policies in force, as may be applicable to the relevant sector, and contribute to the progressive alignment with the standar- ds and policies of the European Union, including where appropriate the acquis communautaire.
