Criteria for Determining Layoffs. 22.1.2.1 County Office and the Association agree that if it is determined that the basis exists to lay off unit members as defined above, then layoffs shall proceed in accordance with Education Code Sections 44949 and 44955.
22.1.2.2 Notice shall be given to the least senior unit members in accordance with Education Code Sections 44949 and 44955.
22.1.2.3 A unit member shall not be laid off if a less senior unit member has been retained in a position that the more senior unit member is credentialed and competent to fill.
22.1.2.4 Seniority is determined by the unit member's first date of paid service in a probationary position.
22.1.2.5 Unit members with a common seniority date shall be laid off according to the following seniority criteria rating. The individual with the fewest criteria points has the least seniority.
a. Years of experience within a specialized field (previous to employment with the Superintendent) as a full time, credentialed teacher in a teaching assignment in a public or private school preschool – age 22.
Criteria for Determining Layoffs. A. Layoffs shall be made on a district-wide basis in inverse order of seniority, in accordance with the applicable sections of the Education Code.
B. Seniority is determined by the unit member’s initial date of probationary service in the bargaining unit with the following provisions:
1. For those unit members with the same initial date of service in the district, the District shall be responsible for developing criteria which meets the educational needs of the district and the students thereof. Such criteria may include the unit member's area of credential, major and minor fields of study, and prior teaching experience.
2. In calculating a unit member’s seniority, each year's credit for service as a temporary or long-term substitute employee immediately prior to employment in a probationary position shall be counted pursuant to Education Code provisions. For service to be counted, the employee shall have been employed at least 75% of the number of days the regular schools of the District were maintained in that school year.
Criteria for Determining Layoffs. 11.1.1 Seniority is determined pursuant to Education Code 44845.
11.1.2 The criteria and numerical scale to determine the order of termination of probationary and permanent employees having the same first day of paid probationary service shall be the following:

In a situation where more than one employee has the same initial date of service, a determination shall be made by District regarding the ranking of the individuals using the criteria of ARTCLE 19 - Layoffs.

Criteria for Determining Layoffs. A. In the event that the Board will be required to lay off unit members because of a decline in attendance, reduction or discontinuance of a particular kind of service, or lack of funds, unit members will be laid off according to seniority, credentials, and competence. Seniority is defined and determined by the first date of paid service in a probationary status. The Plumas County Superintendent of Schools and the Plumas Unified School District will maintain separate seniority lists. The Board will furnish the Association with the current seniority lists in the event that layoffs are necessary.
B. In the event that a number of individuals have the same first date of paid service, the following criteria will be used in determining the order of layoff. Equal weight shall be given each of the following:
1. Teaching experience in subject areas of credentials
2. Authorization of credentials
3. Number of years of classroom teaching experience
C. In the event the above criteria are not successful in determining seniority, a lottery will be used to determine the order of layoff. The lottery shall take place prior to the issuance of layoff notices and shall be conducted in the presence of representatives of the Board and the Association.
