Common use of Decreases in the Specified Amount Clause in Contracts

Decreases in the Specified Amount. We will apply a decrease first against any increases to the Specified Amount in the reverse order in which they were made. We will then apply any remaining decrease against the initial Specified Amount. We have the right to decline to make any Specified Amount decrease that we determine would cause this contract to not qualify as life insurance under applicable tax laws. A decrease in the Specified Amount will not affect the surrender charge and a decrease in the contract's Specified Amount will not decrease the guaranteed monthly premium. The Specified Amount remaining in force after any requested decrease may not be less than the minimum Specified Amount shown in Section 1, Contract Data.
