DEDUCTION OF DUES AND AGENCY FEES. 20.1 As of September 1, 2004, bargaining-unit members shall be required, as a condition of employment, 1) to become members of the Association or 2) to tender to the Association a prescribed agency fee equal to an AAUP-UNH-determined percentage of local and national AAUP dues, or 3) to obtain Conscientious Objector status and contribute an Alternate Fee equivalent to full local and national AAUP dues to an AAUP-UNH managed fund for one or more of three purposes: scholarships for UNH students, UNH faculty development, or the advancement of academic freedom. The amounts allocated or expended for any of these purposes shall be at the discretion of the AAUP-UNH Executive Committee.
