Common use of Deductions of Institute Dues Clause in Contracts

Deductions of Institute Dues. (a) The Company will deduct a sum equal to the regular monthly Institute membership dues from the first pay in each month of all employees in the Bargaining Unit, to the extent that sufficient unencumbered earnings are payable to the employee. (b) The Company will remit the sum deducted, together with a list of the employees from whom deductions have been made, to the Executive Secretary of the Institute within fifteen (15) days. The list shall be in alphabetical order and shall include the name, employee number, and the amount of Institute dues deducted from all employees in the Bargaining Unit. (c) The Institute shall inform the Company one (1) month in advance, in writing, of any change in the authorized monthly membership dues to be deducted for each employee. (d) The Institute agrees to indemnify and save the Company harmless against any liability arising out of the application of this Clause, except for any claim or liability arising out of an error committed by the Company.
