Common use of Defined Terms and Interpretation Clause in Contracts

Defined Terms and Interpretation. (a) Capitalised terms used in this Agreement are defined in Schedule 2 and shall be construed in accordance with the provisions in Schedule 2. (b) In this Agreement, unless the contrary intention appears: (i) a statute or other law includes regulations and other instruments under it and consolidations, amendments, re-enactments or replacements of any of them; and (ii) a reference to any State agency or Government agency includes that agency’s successors and substitutes or any agency that performs substantially the same functions or powers.
