The 'Design Phase Work' clause defines the responsibilities and scope of work required during the project's design stage. It typically outlines the tasks the contractor or designer must complete, such as preparing drawings, specifications, and obtaining necessary approvals before construction begins. This clause ensures that all design-related deliverables are clearly identified and completed to a satisfactory standard, thereby establishing a solid foundation for the subsequent phases of the project and minimizing the risk of misunderstandings or delays.

District has retained various engineers and consultants to perform the work. District may utilize different engineers and consultants on the First Expansion Facilities, subject 1. To the extent items are not already completed or under way, during the Design Phase each of the following shall occur:
Design Phase Work. This task includes design and plan preparation for the replacement or rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer system at the identified locations. Included is preparing contract documents necessary to competitively bid the project. The plan and profile contract drawings will be scaled at 1” = 20’H and 1” = 5’V. The City’s standard details will be utilized and supplemented with project specific details as required. The contract will be a unit-based contract structure following the 2018 ODOT Standard Specifications for Construction and amended with project specific special provisions.
