Destruction for purposes of Section. 18.2 and Section 6.6 shall mean that media on which the Protected Health Information is stored or recorded has been destroyed and/or electronic media have been cleared, purged, or destroyed in accordance with the use of a technology or methodology specified by the Secretary in guidance for rendering Protected Health Information unusable, unreadable, or indecipherable to unauthorized individuals.
