Development Programs. The District shall conduct an active staff development program (courses, seminars, workshops, etc.) which may include, but is not limited to, safety procedures, stress management, time management, enhancement of current technical knowledge and skills, retraining to meet changing institutional needs, development of innovation in administrative techniques and program effectiveness, computer and technological proficiency programs, implementation of affirmative action and upward mobility, and updating of changes in applicable codes and laws. A needs assessment shall be conducted annually by Staff Development. This assessment shall include an opportunity for employees to submit their views and suggestions. An employee will be given released time for attendance at approved programs.
