Distribution of Source Code Clause Samples

The Distribution Of Source Code clause defines the rules and requirements for sharing or providing access to the source code of a software product. Typically, this clause specifies under what conditions the source code must be made available, such as when distributing compiled binaries or modified versions of the software. For example, it may require that any recipient of the software also receives the corresponding source code or instructions on how to obtain it. The core function of this clause is to ensure transparency and enable recipients to study, modify, or redistribute the software, thereby supporting open source principles and compliance with licensing terms.

Distribution of Source Code. The licensee is permitted, but not required to distribute the Swiss Ephemeris source code together with his software app. If the licensee chooses to distribute the source code, he must include the complete Swiss Ephemeris source code. If he has made changes to the original source code, he is subject to the same conditions for those changes as laid down in the AGPL.
