Common use of Double Rental Clause in Contracts

Double Rental. In the event that the Lessee remains in possession of the Premises beyond the expiration or termination of this Agreement, the Lessee shall be bound by all of the terms and conditions of this. Agreement to the same extent as if this Agreement were in full force and effect during the time beyond the expiration date of this Agreement. However, during any such possession of the Premises as a holdover tenant after the County has demanded the return of the Premises, the Lessee shall be liable for double rentals for so long as the Lessee remains in possession after such demand, such rentals to be based upon the rental rates applicable from time to time in whole or in part to the Premises.
