DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. In addition to the following, bus drivers shall satisfy all responsibilities pertaining to drivers in the Transportation Department Handbook, provided that the Handbook is not in conflict with the Master Agreement, and further provided that this paragraph does not constitute a waiver of either party’s rights to negotiate wages, hours, and working conditions as provided for under the Public Employment Relations Act, P.A. 336 of 1947 as amended, MCLA 423.201 et seq.
A. Driving time begins as soon as students board the bus to leave on a field trip. Driving time ends when the bus is empty and parked. Bus drivers will be paid at the driving time rate for pre-trip inspection.
B. The bus driver’s primary responsibility is safe driving; therefore, trip sponsors will be expected to help enforce the bus rules.

Note: The District will include the following statement in the handbook, forms, and posted on the bus: “Driver is not authorized to accept responsibility for articles left on the bus.”
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. A. When DRIVER receives notice of a drug and/or alcohol test, DRIVER shall proceed directly to the nearest collection site. MRO will have sole discretion to determine if DRIVER does not meet this requirement of 49 CFR 382.305(h) and therefore has refused to test.
B. DRIVER must have a collection site and testing facility available immediately wherever DRIVER may be at any time. If DRIVER expects to have specimens collected at locations other than CMR in Lodi, CA, s/he must keep a Custody and Control Form (CCF) from CMR, at all times. Driver must request CCF from CMR whenever it may be needed.
C. DRIVER shall provide MRO with a current mailing address at all times.
D. DRIVER shall provide MRO with at least one current telephone number at all times. If DRIVER cannot be reached for testing after reasonable attempts to do so with all available means over a period of 3 days on two separate occasions at least one week apart, DRIVER will be considered to have discontinued enrollment in the program.
E. If DRIVER is to be unavailable for more than 3 days, AND will not be operating a commercial vehicle during that period of time, MRO must be informed in advance.
F. If DRIVER is not available for more than 30 days, DRIVER must suspend participation in the program. Upon return to work after such an interval, a pre-employment DOT drug test must be performed as part of re-activating participation.
G. If MRO is unable to contact an employee for an interview, MRO shall contact DRIVER as soon as practicable by mail and request DRIVER to contact the MRO within 24 hours of receipt of the letter. Lack of response may result in verification of the test as positive for drugs and shall notify Clearingouse of the result.
H. If the DRIVER does not come to the Lodi office of CMR for testing, DRIVER is responsible for ensuring the collection practice meets all DOT and/or DHHS requirements for drug testing.
I. If DRIVER does not come the Lodi office of CMR for testing, DRIVER is responsible to pay for any alcohol testing required at that time.
J. If post-accident, return-to-duty, or follow-up testing is performed, DRIVER is responsible for the cost. If collection is made at a site other than CMR Lodi CA facility, DRIVER shall pay the site its usual fee for collection. For tests requiring observation of collection, extra charges apply.
K. DRIVER is responsible for all additional laboratory costs for reanalysis and additional tests.
L. If DRIVER’s test is determined a VERIFIED POSITIVE...
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. 1. Bus drivers, when assigned to special trips, will remain with said trip from the time of departure until the time of return, except for meals.
2. Special trip drivers shall be permitted, upon arrival, to leave for a period not to exceed one (l) hour for meals, provided at least one driver remains with the busses; and furthermore, the meal does not delay the departure of the trip. This release must be used specifically for the meal.
3. When one driver is involved in a special trip, he/she, prior to leaving for the meal, shall notify the person in charge of the place to contact the driver in case of need.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. 1. When loading and unloading pupils, the bus driver shall cause the warning lights to operate in advance of that "stop" so that motorists may have sufficient warning of his intention.
2. When discharging pupils who must cross the road, the driver shall not open the service door until all traffic has stopped.
3. Pupils crossing the road, not under the control of a Safety Patrol, shall cross at a point ten (10) feet in front of the standing bus. The bus shall not be started until the pupils are safely on their residence side of the road.
4. A bus shall not be driven backward on the school grounds where children are being loaded or unloaded.
5. All buses in the school loading area shall be operated with due caution for any pupils who may be in the area at that time.
6. The driver shall see that the load is distributed evenly when picking up pupils.
7. The driver shall be responsible for the orderly conduct of the pupils while on the bus. Pupils on the bus are under the authority of and directly responsible to the bus driver.
8. Emergency drills will be conducted according to outlined procedures on all school buses. Such drills will be accomplished on the school grounds or off the highway area.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. Driver responsibilities shall include but not necessarily be limited to:
A. Preparing an accident report immediately after each accident involving the bus or school bus passengers.
B. Ensuring the safety of all passengers by strict adherence to all traffic and safety laws and regulations.
X. Xxxxxxxx that his/her bus is mechanically safe prior to any run. A Driver has the right to refuse to drive any vehicle which does not comply with the published State Vehicle Safety Standards. Should the supervisor review the refusal and determine the bus does meet State safety standards, the opinion shall be issued to the Driver in writing. If the Driver still feels his/her bus is unsafe, the District may direct the Driver to drive, and the matter shall then be subject to the Grievance Procedure.
D. Drivers shall be responsible for keeping his/her bus clean and neat at all times.
E. Drivers shall be responsible for fueling and checking oil.
F. Drivers shall be responsible for enforcing District policies and regulations as they pertain to student conduct.
G. Drivers shall operate their buses in accordance with regulations for driving and care of the vehicle.
H. Drivers must have a physical examination as required by law. The exam will include a drug test. Such exams will be provided by a District appointed physician at District expense. The actual screening procedure will be administered by medical personnel. The specimen will be analyzed by a reputable, independent medical laboratory using scientifically accepted tests. Precautions will be taken at every stage of the process to ensure strict chain of custody and provide confidentiality. The laboratory will test for those drugs that have been determined to be the most commonly used and that are covered under the Controlled Substance Act, Schedules I, II, III and
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. 8.1 The Driver is solely responsible for:
(a) having and maintaining a valid driving license as required under Applicable Law in order to provide Transportation Services;
(b) providing all the necessary infrastructure, equipment and arrangements for providing Transportation Services, including and not limited to:
(i) owning, leasing or having lawful possession of a Vehicle which is registered and maintained in accordance with Applicable Law;
(ii) maintaining a clean and hygienic condition of the Vehicle;
(iii) adequate insurance coverage as required by clause 9 of this agreement; and
(iv) any other necessary approvals and permits for providing Transportation Services.
(c) following all the Instructions given by Grabox in relation to providing the Facilitative Services;
(d) providing Transportation Services & Facilitative Services with the required skill, care and diligence to Passengers in a professional and courteous manner; and
(e) the safety of the Driver and the Vehicle before, during and after providing Transportation Services.
8.2 In order to make and receive communications to and from Grabox, the Driver agrees to acquire and maintain at his or her own expense:
(a) a mobile phone device;
(b) an active sim connection; and
(c) have the necessary messaging and wireless data plan.
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES. A driver and bus will remain on duty at the destination/facility where the group was transported unless the driver is relieved from duty by the Employer. A driver directed to leave the destination/facility for a short period of time by the person in charge of the out-of-town trip for a specific purpose related to the out-of-town trip will be considered to be on duty.

B. Ensuring the safety of all passengers by strict adherence to all traffic and safety laws and regulations.
