Drop Trailer/Interchange Sample Clauses
The Drop Trailer/Interchange clause governs the terms under which one party leaves a trailer at another party’s facility for loading, unloading, or storage, rather than performing a live load or unload. Typically, this clause outlines responsibilities for the care, custody, and control of the trailer while it is on the receiving party’s premises, including liability for damage, theft, or loss. Its core function is to clarify the allocation of risk and responsibility during periods when the trailer is not in the direct possession of the carrier, thereby reducing disputes and ensuring smooth logistics operations.
