Drydocking, Repairs and Improvements Sample Clauses
The 'Drydocking, Repairs and Improvements' clause outlines the rights and responsibilities of the parties regarding the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of a vessel during the charter period. It typically specifies when and how the vessel may be taken out of service for drydocking, who bears the associated costs, and the procedures for notifying the other party. For example, it may require the charterer to allow the owner to drydock the vessel at certain intervals or stipulate that repairs necessary for seaworthiness must be carried out promptly. This clause ensures that the vessel remains in good operational condition while clearly allocating responsibilities and minimizing disputes over maintenance and downtime.
