Common use of DUTIES OF THE ACTOR Clause in Contracts

DUTIES OF THE ACTOR. ‌ The Actor agrees to be prompt and punctual at rehearsals, costume calls/fittings, and to attend all rehearsals as required; to appear at the theatre no later than the half-hour call; to pay strict regard to stage make-up and stage dress; to perform their services as reasonably directed, and to conform to the language of the script to the best of their ability; under the instruction of the Stage Manager, to maintain the original intent of the Director throughout the run of the show (see Xxxxxx 63:13(J)); to learn their lines within the time period set by the Director, but, in any case, at the very latest by the first dress rehearsal; to properly care for their costumes and props; to use, when required by the Theatre, safe electronic equipment, and to respect the physical property of the production and Theatre. If the Theatre feels that serious infractions of this Article have occurred, an Equity member may be subject to disciplinary proceedings, in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of Equity, or termination of contract by the Theatre.
