Economic Adjustments and Priority Placement. During the notice period, the employee whose position is declared redundant shall: i) receive their current hourly rate of pay with any applicable negotiated economic adjustment occurring during aforementioned notice period; ii) considered for placement into a vacant equivalent or lower classified position for which the employee is suited by education, training and work experience subject to the employee meeting the job qualifications, and having the ability to do the work, with a four to six week familiarization period. iii) if an affected employee is not placed into a vacant position, the employee may exercise their right to displace the most junior employee of an equal or lesser classification, in their Division, provided the displacing employee possesses the requisite qualifications and has the demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position into which they bump.
