Environmental conservation. The Countryside Management Service will seek to meet the Council’s objective of helping to protect the environment and character of Reigate & Banstead Borough by: a) Working to conserve and enhance habitats and biodiversity b) Conserving the local distinctiveness of the countryside c) Working with landowners to promote best practice and sympathetic land management d) Working to improve public understanding of countryside issues: biodiversity, heritage, land management, landscape and sustainability

Environmental conservation. Council will consider the dedication of land for the purpose of long-term biodiversity conservation on a case-by- case basis. Consideration of dedications of this type must be accompanied by a comprehensive analysis of the land identifying short, mid and long-term maintenance and renewal obligations on the Council.
