Common use of Environmental sub-service Clause in Contracts

Environmental sub-service. The Consulting Engineer shall identify all potential environmental issues relating to the envisaged scope of the Works during the assessment stage, including areas where potential borrow pits and/or quarries may be located. The environmental sub-Service Provider shall distinguish between the design and construction stages. The Client recommends that the same sub-Service Provider fulfils the duties of the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) and later as the Environmental Control Officer (ECO), in accordance with the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (28 of 2002). Specialist studies identified as being necessary do not form part of normal duties, and such services may have to be separately procured, but still in accordance with the procedures for the procurement of sub- Service Providers.
